Part-Time Deputy Pastoral Care Work Manager Required

Hours: Initially 4 per week, 45 weeks per year. 

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 full-time equivalent (dependent on experience). 

To start: September 2021. 


Purpose of the role 

To assist the Pastoral Care Work Manager in managing the supervision service provided by the PACE Trust and to provide professional supervision to PACE PCW Supervisors, and to Pastoral Care Workers, Senior Leadership Team members and Designated Safeguarding Leads in schools as required. 

PACE is currently supporting around 30 Pastoral Care Workers and members of Senior Leadership Teams in 18 schools across the area. 


Key tasks 

1. MANAGEMENT - Assist in the management of PACE's supervision service to schools of Pastoral Care Workers and Designated Safeguarding Leads. 

2. SUPERVISION - Provide regular supervision and space for PCWs to process and reflect on their work to ensure ongoing high standards of pastoral care. 

3. TRAINING - To assist in the organisation of regular networking sessions for PCWs and an inset training day once a year. 


Are you the person we're looking for? 

You have 5 years' experience of work in schools or a social care setting, working with children or young people. 

You have experience of pastoral care work, multi-agency working, managing others and of organising a demanding workload. 

You are a member of the BACP or similar professional body. 

You have a clear Christian ethos with a balanced approach to difficulties in life. 

You are able to work effectively on your own as well as part of a team. 

You will bring a pioneering attitude to the development of the position. 

You have a comprehensive understanding of child development. 

You have excellent interpersonal skills.
