Katie has over 10 years’ experience of children’s work after working in New Zealand and the Philippines, and in Zimbabwe with Scripture Union.  She has also been involved in local children’s work and training.

Sue Wintle

Sue runs her own accountancy and book keeping practice, is the treasurer of her church and is responsible with her husband Paul for the children’s work at The Vine in Poole.  Sue also oversees all the financial side of PACE.  

Garry McDermott

Garry is a retired businessman who moved to Bournemouth with his wife Chris in 2016 to set up Town Pastors.   They have two daughters who are both teachers and Garry has a heart for young people.  He is also involved with Sleepsafe in helping the homeless. 

Revd Canon Chris Strain 

Chris trained and worked for a time as a solicitor and teacher in Nigeria before being ordained into the Church of England in 1986.  Since 2000 he has served as Vicar of St Luke’s Parkstone.  He has a heart for reaching young people with the gospel and working across Christian traditions being a former chair of Churches Together in Poole.  He has served on General Synod and been Assistant Area Dean of Poole and North Bournemouth.  He and Maggie have three adult children and a granddaughter.

Richard Chewter

Richard has recently retired to Bournemouth (Mary’s home town) after 40 years of full time Christian ministry.  His work covered Door to Door Evangelism, Scripture Union Evangelist South West, CEO of a schools project in Exeter and Town Chaplain in Watford. He was also Exeter City AFC Chaplain for 21 years. Richard is married to Mary.  They have two sons and four grandchildren.  He enjoys watercolour painting, bee keeping. 

Andy Saunders
Andy has been involved in children’s and family ministry for about as long as he can remember. Starting as a volunteer in the Sunday School at his local church, he is now just as likely to be found on the stage at Spring Harvest or running a children’s camp in the heart of Dorset. He has worked at Scripture Union as a Children’s and Family Evangelist, tutored at Moorlands College, and most recently worked as the Children’s and Family Adviser for the Diocese of Winchester. He has created holiday club programmes, developed teaching and devotional resources, run a beach mission and led teams of volunteers at numerous events. Lighthouse Ministries enables him to draw on this rich experience to support churches and organisations who want to build creative and thriving ministries amongst the children and families in their communities. He combines his extensive experience with the flexibility and creativity needed to develop ministries suited to the local context.
Andy has a BA in Applied Theology from the University of Gloucestershire (Moorlands College) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, with a Certificate in Training Practice. He has also completed a Foundation Course in Transforming Church Conflict with Bridgebuilders and a CYM module in Supporting Professional Development in Work-based Learning.


Dave Pegg - Schools Work Leader -
BA Hons Applied Theology and Youth Work

Dave Pegg leads the schools work for PACE.  Dave and his wife (Chrissi) both grew up in Bournemouth and returned in 2016 after 15 years of youth and schools work in Exeter.  Dave has experience in teaching and leadership roles in churches and schools. They have 2 girls who attend one of the schools PACE serves. Dave is part of Bournemouth Community Church and leads Bright Idea Church. Dave loves being part of the PACE family and when he is not working loves watching films, making music and asking people big questions!

Andy Mason - Poole Schools Worker -
BA in Ministry

Andy did a year with PACE in 1999, again in 2002, and now he's back for more!  Andy is married to Allana and they have a daughter Hope and a dog called Teddy.  He's actually an Anglican Vicar (Andy that is, not the dog) who until recently worked in the parish (Kingswood, Bristol) where John Wesley preached his first open air sermon.  Andy is a bit of a film buff, avid book worm, loves creative writing and wishing he did more exercise! 

Sarah Jones - Bournemouth Primary Schools Worker -
BA in Theology and Family & Community  

Sarah joined PACE as a Pastoral Care Worker at Hillbourne in 2010.  When she left to have her first child she took on the role as Children's Pastor at Sunnyhill Church.  Sarah is married to Scott and they have two children.  Sarah loves drinking coffee, eating chocolate and going on holidays. 

Keith Jewell - Schools Worker -
Keith has been involved with schools work for nearly 25 years in Bournemouth, Chelmsford and Salisbury. He was a PACE Pastoral Care Worker from 2001-2005, and has also been involved in local church leadership. Keith is married to Charlotte and they have two daughters, Maddy and Katy. He enjoys watching a good film with the family, and spending time on holiday with them too, especially when it involves walking along a beach.


Pauline Horder - Head of Supervision & Support
BSc Hons Psychology, MA Counselling Studies, Certificate in Supervision

Pauline Horder joined PACE in 2002 and is a professional counsellor and psychologist with many years' experience in the field of youth work and counselling.  Pauline is responsible for the ongoing support and professional supervision of the Pastoral Care Workers and provides 1-to-1 supervision and tailored training to ensure the quality of the provision.

Lynley Wilkes - Head of Supervision for Bournemouth and Christchurch
BA Applied Theology, NYA Youth and Community Work, Foundation Degree in Christian Theology and Ministry 

Lynley has been actively involved with youth work for over 25 years, both in training and supervision of workers.   She set up and worked as a Transitional Worker with a School Pyramid in Poole and spent time in Uganda training youth workers and teachers to support students at a local secondary school in the Kinkiizi region.  Lynley continues on a private basis to work with women who have been abused.


Chrissi Pegg

Chrissi is our administrator, handles DBS checks and other important paper work and communications.  She is married to Dave and is part of Bournemouth Community Church.

Anita Brown

Anita does an excellent job as our bookkeeper.  She has been involved with PACE since the beginning and has worked in Hamworthy Park Junior School as one of our Pastoral Care Workers since 2001.  In her spare time Anita enjoys sunny weather, walking her dog by the sea, holidays, cooking and eating paella!!
